ART DIRECTION
7 years of Art Direction experience in-house, agency and experimental projects. Specializing in fashion and beauty concepts, I've expanded into art direction for loyalty and finance with my current role at Bank of Montreal.

About my process:
+
Research
I grew up in Toronto and I'm taking inspiration constantly from changes in the cultural, political and artistic landscape here. I have a BDes in fashion, which for me ended up as a mix of sociology and creative expression. Trends emerge from collective beliefs, so I'm interested most in the narratives underneath visual directions.
+
Brief Alignment
I ask a lot of questions about what the brand needs, what you personally like, how much time we have, and where things will live. Working with subjective matter to craft cohesive media requires clear communication-- collaboration being the most important part of getting a high performing end result.
+
Design
Conceptualizing campaigns optimized for billboards, packaging, and many, many many web placements. I've done a lot of it! From brand identity work, through full scale campaigns (DOOH, experiential, social, email CRM) my design experience supports my talent for cohesive storytelling across media.
+
Production
Pre-pro, direction on set, overseeing edits with external production partners, working closely with designers, illustrators and animators. Additional to art direction, I've worked as a graphic production designer, freelance photographer, and social video editor, experiences which help me direct art for the right end result without running over rounds of edits.
+
Post-Mortems
I love bringing things to life as a team, and I work to foster relationships. Conversations considering the larger process, goals met, learnings and continual testing mean sharper iterations and cleaner future workflow.

Photography
Photography goes hand-in-hand with my approach to art direction. I shoot freelance, in-house, and for personal projects. Shooting captivates me and pushes my interest in visual storytelling further.
+
Pre-Pro
Working freelance, my background in art direction allows for a lot of flexibility and understanding around pre-pro and inspo coming together on tight timelines. My understanding of ad placements means I can plot out more effective shots, while my artistic background means I'm always shooting to craft a story or explore an emotional angle further.
+
Post-Pro
I provide editing and retouching services, generally 2-3 rounds included.
+
Video
Rush jobs for social edits and light animation. I can carry the basics or I can refer a pro :)

Artwork
I use mass-manufactured and found objects to create sculptures and spaces examining collective fantasies. My work in this space investigates group access, class mobility and disparity through my sculptural and performative practice.
